It doesn't look like he intended to wreck the 2 and the 22. He was coming up fast on the 2 tapped once just fine but on the second tap I'm guessing he didn't expect Brad to go low when he went high. If you look at it closely Brad went a bit towards the inside just as McDowell went a bit towards the outside and by that point there was nothing he could do.

Brad had a run on Logano, he went low and, like an idiot, Logano tried to block him when there was obviously no room to block. Took them both out and McDowell had nowhere to go. In retrospect, he was in the perfect position.

Nobody saying anything about Keslowski and Logano getting run over by mcfucker to win the race. You can see him bump drafting and let's off before the turn. Then he taps the right rear in turn 4 while they're in the corner. To me that's dirty racing. Listen to Keslowsi after he leaves the infield hospital. References McDowell doesn't know how to drive.

Didn’t bother to watch it this year. I’m tired of watching a boring parade interrupted by big wrecks. NASCAR could easily fix this, but its obvious they don’t care that it’s boring and not real racing - unless you’re juvenile and think big wrecks are exciting. Instead of plates they could reduce intake and exhaust valves and header tubing diameter, and/or go to a specified tire hardness, as a harder tire would force them to back out of the throttle and slow down before corner entry. This would slow down the car speeds, but they would drive like a normal race car.

McDowell running 3rd, is pushing Keselowski because his car is faster and doesn't want to lose the momentum his line had (possibly with the idea to both pass Logano, then make a shove for the win). However, Logano blocked, and in turn took both he and Keselowski out -- this is just racing. It was an aggressive move for sure but so was Logano's block. It's not like Dillon's win after dumping Almirola. What do you want them to do? Race passively and just hang out and accept the other guy winning? You do whatever you can to win!

@Gus M yes like Simon explained. Elliot pushed McDowell and created the momentum that got McDowell to catch up to Brad's rear bumper. You should know this They explained bump drafting and air flow several times during the race. How else would McDowell have surged forward and reached the #2 ?

@Gus M Right, but look at 0:11 to 0:18. At 0:11, #9 is closing fast, at 0:15 he makes contact accelerating #34 still at 8:18 pushing McD into the back of #2 at 0:22-23. Maybe the announcers didn't see it or maybe they were busy with celebrating McD's win.

Just before the wreck, the running order was, 22 1st, 2 2nd, 34 3rd. The 34 runs into the back of 2 and pushes him into the 22, which spends out the 22 and the 2 cars. So, the 34 causes the wreck of the two cars ahead of him, which lets him win the race. How is that fair racing?

"Decimated" equals a 10% reduction in the field - this harks back to a Roman practice of executing every 10th man in a military cohort who was executed by the other 9 in his group. Denny couldn't Deliver, but he sure tried. He put up a good effort. You could see it in his eyes, he was very disappointed. Still a top 5 is nothing to be sad about after how good he has been in this race the last 6 or however many years. That's still impressive.

@Caeleb 22 Kyle Petty ran the ARCA Daytona race back in 1979 and won that. He never won the Daytona 500. Sterling Marlin on the other hand got his first 2 wins in the event.
