Why throw the caution on the last lap of a road course after all those cautious? Get it together.
Politically Incorrect
Toyota cup. It’s taking the whole Sport over. Sick of Toyota cup nascar.
Paparoachfanalways
Love the fact we are racing on road course and in the rain for that matter but yah enough with the Toy victories. 😒

I like races like this. There'll be plenty of nice, relatively clean racing down the line; it's kinda fun to see some elbows thrown on an ice-rink every once in awhile.

@slick welds I know that too. But nascar is killing itself race to race. I know folks are tired of hearing that. But it’s the truth Hate to this

To be fair trucks have low attendance before covid and this track doesn't have stands all around it like other road courses do

Can anyone explain to me the logic of this stupid stage racing?
N. Warner
N. Warner 9 days ago
Yes. NASCAR noticed that throughout the 2000's races had become just three hours of mind numbing boredom followed by 30 minutes of (potential) excitement. TV ratings and track attendance were on the decline. Now that decline began with the introduction of the hated "chase" points system, but NASCAR is unable to admit its mistakes and correct them. So, rather than drop the chase, and rearrange the way points are awarded in order to force drivers to race every lap, they decided to break up the tedium by forcing at least 2 restarts per race. On the whole, it has been a good thing. Since the 550HP package has killed racing at the intermediate tracks, the only passes that occur most of the season happen on those stage restarts. I hope this helps to explain NASCAR's "logic" concerning stage racing.

@Devin C i really detest these mandatory cautions
Devin C
Devin C 9 days ago
It makes drivers more competitive because the the drivers at the lead and front get more points. So you are more willing to make passes and try to get ahead of as many trucks as possible to get the most possible points.
Mak Alson

Those stands are packed. Reminds me on 1990 again.
Mak Alson
Mak Alson 8 days ago
@Cody Moe obviously a joke and jab at nascar and it's decline by hundreds of thousands of seats removed at it's tracks through recent years and the inability to fill the few they have left.
Cody Moe

I doubt that considering the truck series didn't appear as a series until 1995...
Gary Wood
Gary Wood 9 days ago
I do love the truck racing. And I even love a little Road course racing. But I don't think politics don't have a place in racing. That said I see the owner of Camping world has come back out of hiding and put back up the Camping World back up. He took it down after posting in the news and advertising that if people voted for Trump or was conservative they didn't want your business. Then he switched the name to Gander RV & Outdoor Truck Series. I guess thinking people wouldn't that it was his company also. Kinda cowardly to say something then run and hide behind another name. Good people don't like people telling them who to vote for or else.
Gary Wood
Gary Wood 7 days ago
@Devin C I would say that the Trump was a paid advertisement that has nothing to do with my statement. And neither has Bubba's. But I would bet Bubba's wasn't a paid advertisement. I think you need to read my statement a little better before commenting.
Devin C
Devin C 8 days ago
Now what is your opinion of NASCAR inviting and hosting former President Trump to the Daytona 500 pre-race festivities and having a Trump 2020 re-election sponsored car racing in the Cup series? Bubba had a social justice hashtag on the side of his car for two races and that isn't political. But a car with TRUMP 2020 signed for six races in the latter half of the season is quite political and since you don't think politics have a place here in racing what are you thoughts and opinions on that, as well as having Trump hosting the pre-race events at the Daytona 500 last year?

@N. Warner please elaborate on that. With statements with facts.
Devin C
Devin C 9 days ago
@Gary Wood okay Trump supporters and conservatives threatened to boycott when Petty signed Bubba Wallace to his team. And conservatives alone despised that Danica won the pole for a Daytona 500. Frankly, Gary, with all this complaining they should have left long before the Gander dude made the remarks that got your feelings hurt. Not sure why you are so obsessed with liberals and whatnot. You're not smug or cute or smart.

@N. Warner yeah I guess siteus1 can't recall the long green flag runs we would endure at Texas, Michigan, Pocono, and Kentucky. Where the leaders would get ahead by nearly ten seconds the whole race and it just became a matter of follow the leader.
N. Warner
N. Warner 9 days ago
@Siteus1 You should have seen NASCAR before they added stages. 3 hours of single file tedium, followed by 30 minutes of mayhem. At least stage racing gives you a reason to wake up in the middle of the race. If only for a few minutes.
Siteus1

@Jefferson Koster couldn't disagree more. Artificial yellow flags to pack the field up again, so they can force feed more adverts and destroy most alternative strategies

Right? They show all the "highlights" of the boring stage 1 & 2 racing. This race took 3 overtimes to settle, they show one, acknowledge one, and ignore one completely. What a joke.
